Today I got up early and went to church. It was my first time in an Anglican church and it was nice. The people are lovely. Then we came home for Sunday dinner with my host and two other couples. It was a pleasant day of good food and visiting. Following dinner Marjorie and I went for a walk all around the town. We visited the shopping mall called The Glades and the local park which at one time was the garden to a stately home which sadly was destroyed during the war. Too bad pieces of history are no longer around because of someone's desire for power over another peoples. Although at the time the home probably seemed like just another large home and not a piece of history.
Then I puttered around until now again I have stayed up way too late. No matter, our day doesn't start until noon tomorrow at which point we will venture out into London to see where Churchill lived (speaking of war).
FYI: The word garden is used both in referring to one's yard as well as a place where one grows things such as flowers or vegetables. When one says "go to the garden..." and they have both a lawny part and a growy part of their property make sure you get the right one.
I love your blogs...very entertaining....keep writing.
